Me and painting
It all started when I was given a set of watercolour paints when I was 10 years old. I drew and painted incessantly from that point.
I have always been fascinated by the built environment and loved looking at and drawing everything around me where I grew up in Wolverhampton. I became interested in the way that people are connected to buildings and places and I like to try to capture that in my painting. My LifeStory paintings are commissioned artworks that capture the story of your life through the places that mean the most to you.

The majority of my work is rooted in physical places but I've started work on a small series of paintings exploring what happens when that connection is lost and journeys that we make through life.
For a long time my day job got in the way of painting and I spent a lot of time doodling ferociously on conference calls while my painting was crammed into weekends and evenings but, over the last few years, I have dedicated a lot more time to painting. My work is predominantly watercolour. I love its ethereal quality which creates a feeling of fluidity and movement and of the passing on time.
Have a look and let me know what you think!
